Today I woke up apprehensive of the weight that I would see on the scale after gorging myself on Korean food the night before. Although the bibimbap and soup were delicious, the stomach pain as I laid on the couch negotiating the uncomfortable pressure against my ribs was not. I was pleased though that both girls seemed to eat a full helping of broth and rice. Because of my own daily struggles with food having constant focus on them eating to make sure they both get fed seems to only compound my own issues.

However, I was pleasantly surprised that although the scale did not go down, it didn't rise dramatically either. Another day, another not quite failure. The rest of the morning post coffee and meds was fully plugged into the New York Times games on my phone. I had discovered 'Spelling Bee' along with the bot that gave you hits to solve. By almost noontime I had solved every spelling bee and crossword for the week and was ready to get my day started. I'm purposefully ignoring that although I turned my phone into a 'dumb' version, I still manage to navigate my way to scroll on Reddit for dopamine.

The kids were a little under the weather, but didn't seem so bad, so we ventured down to Portland to buy German food for my work potluck on Wednesday. A better way to productively focus on something else besides the stress of standing in front of 50+ people as the new director/manager of the group. Within seconds the girls spotted the Haribo gummies and chose which ones they wanted, frogs and Mario Bros version. And unsurprisingly with that secured proceeded to immediately want to leave. Karl brought them outside after their protests so I could finish ordering from the deli counter.

Bratwurst, pretzels, and potato salad secured I headed outside to find them around the corner. Effie completely collapsed on the sidewalk ('my legs hurt/don't work'). So I loaded up and drove the car to them. Expedition out of the house over, apparently.

And that was the only semi productive thing accomplished today, besides setting up this blog on a whim. I tried to stop at Joann's but was quickly overstimulated trying to interpret a knitting pattern so I nope'd out of there. I found a place in downtown Vancouver that I might try tomorrow.

The plan for tonight: wine & anime.
